The amount of yarn is a guess because I have been mostly using scraps

Here is what I did; I co 21. Sl1 k2p2 across and repeated this until I had 8 inches. I used a whip stitch to close the seam..and there you have it! They measure 3 1/2 inches wide and they stretch to aprox 6 inches. My calf is measure 14 inches and they fit perfectly.

If you need larger or smaller then increase of decrease an inch or 2.
