I got gauge but I think this yarn is really worsted weight as it made a tight, dense fabric at 20 sts per inch (which I really love for the warmth).

I made the sleeves extra long so they could be makeshift fingerless mitts and it turned out great. These photos are taken after a year of frequent wearing.

I got in the habit of calling it Old Bird because my mom was also knitting a similar sweater at the time called Old Town (really pretty).

I increased the number of sts for the neck so that the band would be wider and go up a bit. Also, added a icord button band and icord around the bottom.
