Notes

After my kids stole my cupcake pincushion I needed a substitute.
I used both yarns doubled. Since I don’t usually crochet, I lack a big part of the range of crochet hooks. I just used whatever I found and tried not to make it too tight. It’s stiff as hell, but I like it for a pincushion.

When I was done crocheting and stuffing, I pulled a piece of yarn through the top of the ‘coffee’ and the bottom of the cup a few times to help with the shape. I wanted to avoid the ‘coffee’ being pushed up by the filling, and wanted the bottom to have a base that the cup can stand on (see pictures).

I filled the bottom of the cup with little stones, the ones you buy in Ikea as flowerpot material, then stuffed the rest with fiberfill. This way it has its weight and it doesn’t go anywhere.

The ‘cream’ and the flowers were embroidered after everything was done.
