Frogged. I just didn’t like this enough to wear it (I never wore it actually), so why not make something better with the yarn?

Because I really don’t have enough shawls on the needles right now…

I got distracted on the last row before the eyelets. Combine that with the fact that the directions are impossible to understand (even after reading everyone’s notes I’m still confused), and you get a bunch of nasty mistakes. I had to improvise right after I finished the stockinette section, and I didn’t take notes of what I did. I think it looks OK in the end.
If I ever knit this again, I’m going to do some math (I’m positive that there’s a mistake in the stitch count in the pattern), and be sure of what I’m doing before I start to do it. All and all, the three stars I gave the pattern are for the original and rather cool construction. The two stars I didn’t give are for the horrible instructions, the fact that the crochet BO is not mentioned anywhere on the pattern page (or the pattern itself, until you are actually told to do it), and the fact that there are absolutely no instructions on how to do it or how to read the crochet BO chart. If it wasn’t for other people’s notes, I’d never understand how to do the crochet BO (and even with all the notes I read I still had to do some trial and error until it looked right).
