like my optimus prime scarf, this one was done and redone and redone because i was never happy with the results. now i think it’s fab! hopefully i’ll snag some photos of emery actually wearing it once i’ve given it to him. ;)
oddly, the optimus prime scarf is a LOT softer than this one even though it’s made out of the same yarn. that is somewhat unfortunate - i’m not sure if using real wool for kids scarves was the best idea.

clearly this did not get finished for christmas last year. i’ve decided to frog and restart this project and this time i’m double knitting in in order to get a less bulky end result, especially considering that the ends (with the intarsia) were going to be twice as thick as the rest of the scarf.
i’ve never attempted double knitting so far and seem to be making a whole schwack of mistakes - i may have finally gotten on a roll. i plan to have this done before remembrance day as i’m heading out to edmonton for the week.

this is for my nephew, emery, for christmas this year. he loves transformers and bumblebee. this is being knit in the round on dpns with 54 stitches per round. once it’s finished i’ll post all of the stitch grids and anything else if anyone is interested.
hopefully one skein of each colour will be enough for a scarf for a three-year-old, but i’m not sure since it’s a double-thickness.
i’m not particularly happy with how the yarn is pulling when i’m changing colours. obviously i have no idea what i’m doing here, or just suck at it.
p.s. this scarf currently resembles hockey socks.
