4 June 2026: This pattern is very satisfying to me. I weave the yarn ends as I go, and the knitting goes more quickly than it might seem. Provisional cast on used to keep stitches live for picking up the edging.

17 June 2026: 15 squares completed. This colorway of Gina is tricky to manage when joining new skeins because the color changes between skeins can be from different parts of the color wheel. I am tinkering with different skeins and different ends of the same skein to manage this.

19 June 2026: 18 squares done.

21 June 2026: 20 squares done. Looking at the WIP with a bird’s eye view, I may be over-thinking the color changes between skeins. I will keep selecting the next skein’s starting point thoughtfully, but won’t get too fussy.

28 June 2026: 26 squares done. Notes for next time--try a slipped stitch join to possibly reduce bulk at the joins on the picked up edges.

5 July 2026: Knitting done! On to the i-cord edging.

9 July 2026: I-cord done. Finishing the last ends and blocking will be tomorrow.
