I realy don`t like the look of the "sl 1 as if to knit, k2tog, pass slipped st over" - that is such a mess! So I decided to work "S2KP" instead and that makes a beautiful straight stitch, it looks so much better.

S2KP: Insert the right needle knitwise into the second, then slip the first stitch on the left needle.
Slip the 2 stitches together to the right needle.
Knit the next stitch on the left needle.
Insert the left needle from left to right through the 2 slipped stitches.
Lift the stitches over the knit stitch and off the right needle.
