I knew this would knit up big and took a gamble on shrinking it. I also wanted to use a variegated yarn instead of a solid second colour. Only trouble was, i fell for a combination where CC had MC in it! So after much thought and tearing out of hair, i decided to Go ahead and then Swiss darn over all cream stitches which should have been in CC in a third colour, the grey. Having finished, i had leftover CC and could have just used that to fill in the gaps, but am still pleased with the result. I used Tech knitter’s idea for stretchy hem (4 rows garter stitch) but felting has nearly taken stretch out anyway. They are beautiful and soft in feel and look. Now i am ready to knit a hat with leftovers.
Just washed again at 40 degrees and have been lucky that they are right size. Photo is of them just out of washing machine and with felt pen inside thumb to hold it open while drying. Ribbing no longer stretchy.
