And we start today!
The construction seems pretty similar to my last project (Birkin Polo) so I hopefully won’t get bored…

CAST ON
Not much to report here, if not that is done with german short rows instead of the classic increases to shape the shoulders. Not sure which one I prefer, but probably the increases method because the broken yarn made me lose my temper a little bit, since it was getting loose at every round and it was annoying.

NOTES ABOUT THE YARN
I hate it passionately.
Silk is not elastic (of course), super splitty, especially the yarn connected to the thread, the threads separate in the hand holding the yarn all the time (especially on p rows). Keeping tension between p and k rows is also pretty hard. From the swatch I saw it gets a lot better with blocking but I usually have no tension issues so it’s frustrating.

However the final product looks super nice. I wonder how the fit will be.

COLLAR
Classic provisional cast on with judy magic. The pattern is super clear so I don’t have many comments about it.
Yesterday I connected the collar to the shoulder (picking up sts with silk made me hate the world but ok).

And I finally joined the body together!
I wasn’t very consistent with this, took some breaks here and there, but I had a slow weekend and could finally make some progress!

Nothing to report in terms of what to do, the pattern is super clear.

I need to force myself on a more fun / bigger needles project next, to build some dopamine

Anyway nothing to say, it’s been slow and painful stockinette all along. 3-4cm of the body missing next.
