The pattern doesn’t really help.
The gauge doesn’t have number of rows.

My bust is 98cm and I don’t want too much ease, thinking of 100-102cm

To get there I increased the needle to 5,5mm. Kept 4,5 for the ribbing because I changed my mind mid way on switching to 5,5.

Given the smaller gauge, I’m knitting L to reach 100-102. With 15sts gauge tho it would reach 98 max width so I added a 4th round of increases (still after 3,5cm) so that it should meet the target.
This way I should also be able to reach 80sts to start the neck in the end after 20rounds of decreases (the pattern seems to be wrong otherwise) as I would start decreasing from 240 sts.

I calculated the raglan part, with 20rounds of decreases, should take 18,5cm length so I plan to make the body longer, to 32cm so that the overall sweater should measure around 50cm in the end (I’m 168cm tall).

I plan also to add shortrows after raglan

I forgot to mention: I casted on with Italian caston and plan to bind off the neck also with Italian.
As usual with the 2 preparation rows for the tubular

Finally joined the sleeves to the body!
I left the underarm stitches on scrap yarn to knit them together at the end instead of sewing them together after casting off.

Not sure I like knitting bottom up sweat_smile, but the surprise effect at the end is also fun

and I’m done with the body!!! Starting the ribbing of the neck.

Having added a 4th increase in the body at the beginning, I ended up with 240sts once I joined the sleeves to the body. From there to 80 (goal to beginning of the neck), I decreased 20 times (8sts each time), alternating decrease rows and normal rows.

This way I had a correct count. The pattern is wrong, without the 4th increase I added, I would have been with 76 or 84 sts left with the decreases.

For the neck, I decided to use 5mm needles (which would meet the L gauge, but I used 4,5 for bottom rib and cuffs to make it a bit tighter).

Before starting the neck I did 6 shortrows to shape the back. I proceeded as follows:
after finishing the decreases, I knitted 1 round, then did 6 shortrows (2 sts after the raglan on both sides, 2sts before the raglan and 4sts more again - so that each shortrows should stop 4sts before the other), then knit 1 round and finally I just started the ribbing of the neck.

And I’m done!!!!!

Finished the neck with tubular castoff (as usual).
Closed the armpits by picking up 8 stitches and finishing with kitchener (as per https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4er3ap6xbh0&list=LL&a...)

Now it’s time to waive in ends and take pictures :-)
