Notes

Increase up to 144 around again (24 rounds) selected 5 round stripes totally at random but they work out to be almost exactly 1 color of the rainbow gradient yarn.

Decrease for top can happen:

in any 3rd round of color block (2 complete)
if working yarn both working and carry yarn both weigh 31 grams or less

A(n?) homage to this hat,and even finished the day before Easter! I still want to make a zigzag attempt.
