Murm (like the noise a cat makes) or Miriam requested a hat and said lavender was her favorite color… which I didn’t have a ton of and didn’t make me enthusiastic. Then, on Mother’s Day I went through a giant trash bag of free yarn I’d had for months and found a lavender fade!

The beginning of an idea formed, but what I initially pictured wouldn’t have been fun. Thankfully Ravelry was there to provide inspiration and excel there to provide visualization. Because the “math” works out perfectly I know I’m on the right track.

Making a smidge bigger than my recent Double Tango hat, by request and because the yarn is fine, so increasing up to 150SC per round, 21x 5 round stripes of fade, then 13x 5 round stripes of Paisley & Midnight.
