Notes

Because what makes better children’s toys than cashmere? LOL

Horn, Silk Essence and Silk/Cashmere Lace held together

same as Pink Unicorn

Ears, Queen of Hearts

same as Plushy Zebra, without color change

During attachment I actually ripped out the last 5 slip stitches. Reworked slip stitches to fold ear and attach to head at the same time.

Forelegs, Tosh Sock & Queen of Hearts

same as Plushy Zebra, without stripes

Head, Queen of Hearts

same as Plushy Zebra, without stripes

A few clarifying notes:

I did add nostrils on Plushy Zebra, just didn’t add notes. SL, 2SC, 2HDC, 2SC, SL in the 12th (widest) round, positioned directly in front of the eyes.

My eyes are bigger on this horse, so my eyelids are also bigger, 14SC for 2 rows. Eye between you and the work on the first row to make the lids lay the same.

Body, Queen of Hearts

same as Plushy Zebra, without stripes

Again a few clarifying notes:

For the, “pre-work neck attachment circle” place right sides together

I did 5 (front) and 7 (back) SC between forelegs

I usually finish hooking the entire body before I add any stuffing, so when I’m done I just lift up the arms, which folds the body fabric in half so I can mark where the tail and crotch need to go

Tail, La Jolla

Similar to Holly the Unicorn. I wanted the tail to stick out just a bit, before falling, like a ponytail, and haven’t been able to get this look from the strip style I’ve used in the past. I worked (all SL in BOTH LOOPS) as follows:

CH 44, SL back (43)
SL 3, CH41, SL back (43) x4
SL 3, CH37, SL back (39) x5
SL 3, CH33, SL back (35) x5
SL 3, CH29, SL back (31) x5

Roll it up with the long strands in the center of the roll, one direction seemed to be more willing to roll than the other, then SL3 to seal the roll. Sew to pony bum with yarn tail.

Back Legs, Queen of Hearts and Tosh Sock

As Plushy Zebra

After the tail is attached before stuffing, find the center of the body and fold them to meet (confirm you have 40SC on either side) with same color scrap yarn 4SL to join front to back. Afterwards there should be 38SC (still use the first/last slipped stitch). Only need to decrease 2 stitches in the first round of each leg.

I worked 7 rounds before changing to hoof color.

Mane, La Jolla

Similar to Pink Unicorn. Back bump works even better than both loops. Made 3 stripes in the Holly the Unicorn method:

Central: 40x5, 35x5, 30x5, 25x5, 20x7
Sides: 40x6, 35x6, 30x6, 25x6, 20x6
