Kinda a wedding blanket, but I won’t hold it until April. I’ll just give it to her when it’s finished. Gillian loves sunflowers and they are her wedding flower. I also like that several of the colors are “starting a happy new life” themed, totally accidentally.

I’d like to use up each color to within 100 yards (or less) and add to my collection of autumn scraps, without having yarn chicken issues. To accomplish this I have an excel spreadsheet that’s calculating the number of DCs used in each subsequent round. I’m using the known counts per round, and a yarn scale for an educated guess at how many DCs I can get from each color, and planning the rows accordingly.

I’m happy to report this method worked beautifully. Of the 9 colors I used, none ended with “too much” yarn, and none ran out and required frogging/rework. There were a few colors I was nervous about, but all worked out.

On the Pattern:
There are some project notes that don’t make it clear, but every round is mostly DC regardless if it’s a large or small shell round, so your color changes can be totally independent of round number
