6 of each round per skein (48 skeins, 288 total hexies). “Random” color selection, but I have an excel spreadsheet to ensure no repeats. Will work all 288 Rnd1 before moving on to Rnd2, etc. Completion percentage refers to each round (about every 14 hexies). Rnd1 in reality is between 6.8-8.5%, Rnd2 18.9-23.4%, and Rnd3 only 37.1-45.9% of the total blanket volume. Will work extras beyond 288 as needed to use up yarn, and to complete a 3:4 dimension shape.

Rnd1: Thumb length tail. CH5, flip tail over working yarn, slip stitch to close loop, then wrap tail clockwise with loop so it’s caught by first chain of CH2 (which is NOT a stitch) DC12 (push them all over to the center when 5 remain, and flip tail to get worked over when 3 remain) slip stitch to first stitch to join. Cut tail in front of extended tension finger. Snug starting tail before trimming. Work ending tail under working Vs 9 times.

Decided to work all of the final colors, one color at a time (like I’ve done for the previous rounds) then frog the final few clusters and JAYG to assemble all at once. Keeps it mobile longer. Also, any added hexies will likely be predominantly Turtle, Splash & Skydiver, so want to mix those throughout the blanket. The additional time used from working the last clusters more than once should be offset by not swapping out yarn colors 288+ times.

Rnd4: Hook length tail. Worked WS facing. CH1 (does NOT count as SC) SC in space between 3DC groups, above turning chain of Rnd2. (CH2, SC between 3DC groups, CH3, SC between 3DC groups)x6, slip stitch to first SC to join. CH1 & turn.

Rnd5: Slip stitch to CH2 space. CH2 (does NOT count as DC) 3DC, CH1 in CH2 space, 3DC, CH2, 3DC, CH1 in CH3 spacex6, slip stitch to first DC to join.

Completed first 288 07/04/26, average gm/hex used: 5.99gm, and average full hex used: 12.18gm
