Notes

The gauge for this sweater is 20 st/20 rows=10 cm in plain stockinette and stranded stockinette. But I’m getting 6 sts/in instead of 5, so by my math I should knit size E to get a chest measurement of around 40”. We’ll see!

Day 1: this is the very best tubular cast-on tutorial, I use it every time! CO 112 (size E) on size US 2 needles, because tubular edges tend to be loose. Was way too big. Started over with 104 (size A).

12-08-2024

Switched to US 4 after ribbing. Did the short rows section for size E, then:
-first inc rnd: (K2, M1) all the way around = 149

FINALLY bound off the body! Lord. Chest fits great, body is VERY loose. Ready for sleeves. Size E says bicep should have 82 sts after picking up 8.

04-01-2025

Knit the bicep on 74 sts (decreased from 82 at pickup down to 74 over 1.5”, or 4 sets of decreases). Pausing at elbow to do the other sleeve the same way. None of my dye lots match!!

04-10-2025

Decreasing forearms slowly down to 56 sts (dec rnd every 3/4” or so)… did cuff on 52. Sleeve 1 done on 4/22!
