Total length 8½“ with collar. I definitely wouldn’t have had enough of the mauve wool to have done an extra pattern repeat! I may try it on the other one.

Reached row 24, and the length is only 8” instead of 9”; I had to do an extra four rows on the sleeves to reach the stated length, so I’m not really surprised. I should probably have done another pattern row on the skirt before joining in the sleeves, but I didn’t think I’d have enough mauve wool. In fact I seem to have plenty, but I don’t really want to undo half the garment….

The width is also only about 14” instead of 16”, and yet on double-checking my row gauge still seems to be correct as specified. I may simply need to block this garment out quite a bit.

The comments on the Ravelry page for this pattern indicate that there is a general error across all the sizes in the cast-off line before the yoke; if you work the pattern as written, you end up with stitches left over at the end of this row (with the precise number varying according to the size worked).

(1 + 21 + 6 + 40 + 6 + 21 = only 95 stitches used of the 97 cast on)

The next row requires (22 + 41 + 22) stitches, so presumably for the newborn size you need to knit 41sts across the centre and then 22 at the end of the row, as bookworm2192 suggests in her comment.

Eight repeats (of nine) complete on main body - I’m onto my second ball of mauve already, so I’m not sure how far up the yoke I’ll get before I have to change colours!

The pattern tells you to cast off three stitches at the beginning and end of the final row on the sleeves before putting them on stitch holders; apparently this means ‘knit to end of row, turn, and cast off first three stitches on next row’….

Stripe pattern used: 6 green, 4 grey, 6 ochre. Doesn’t actually fit in all that well with the stitch pattern (eg the sleeves start with 8 rows of rib and the body with 4-row repeats) but it looks all right at a distance.
