Notes

As you can see, I made two. The first one (other project page) was knit with a single strand of my handspun Rambouillet dyed by @knitting_lizard_fibers and two strands of the contrast colors. The green was alpaca storm @isageryarn and the yellow was a superfine merino naturally dyed by me with yellow onion skins. I was over zealous with making sure my Roositud floats were long enough, and ended up needing to needle felt them down so they were not floppy and snagging on everything.

The second hat (this project page) I made with my handspun held double for about a dk weight, with the same needles. This resulted in a hat for deep winter, and the fabric held the Roositud tighter. I also used three strands of the alpaca for the motifs, and was less aggressive about leaving long floats. I think I got the balance right!
