This is a good illustration as to why I often choose a less expensive yarn to make a clothing item for myself for the first time. I had perfect gauge for this pattern, but I seem to always forget that I’m short in the torso. So the jacket comes totally over my hips instead of stopping short of the widest point (like it does on the model in the book), which makes it look like I have no waist at all. I was also unhappy with the way the jacket creases around the armpits in the back, though I think no one will really notice.

I adapted the lace around the border to just do it in continuous round.

I like it enough to perhaps do it again in a more expensive yarn and adapt the length to flatter me better.
