Notes

5 Stitches per inch

This was quick and fun to knit. The yarn stripes beautifully and this now fits like a dream. Here are the changes I made along the way.

The big challenge was to determine how big to knit the front and back (vertical sections). Then I discovered that that size will determine how many stitches you can pickup up for the Top Sections. I had to rip out the top section 1/2-way through because it was too small, knit 12 more rows in the Ridge Stitch Pattern on the bottom pieces, and then I was able to pick up enough to make it fit perfectly.

I added sleeves with a standard sleeve cap as it looked like it might bunch up under the arm if I didn’t do a normal sleeve cap. I let the sleeves roll (due to stockinette stitch) at the bottom and it looks cute.

I felt that the shoulders might be too narrow and the v-dip in front too low so I started the V-neck one inch higher than the sleeve cap bind offs and widened each shoulder by 1 inch.

I also added two rows of single crochet to the v-neckline, front and back, to make it look more finished.
