Inspired by Dena Kay Weaver and followed her notes.

Made a basic chevron blanket alternating colors every 4 rows. Ch 120+1

On the 3rd row, crochet in the BLO (back loop only) to give the ruffles a place to anchor.

After finishing the basic blanket, I went back to the BLO rows and did 3 DC in each loop to create the ruffles.

Then I did a simple shell border around to finish it off.

Finished size (with border) 32” x 40”.
17 sets of colored rows (68 rows) and 8 peaks not counting the fill-in rows to even off the top and bottom edges.

Total weight 2lb 5oz, which is a tiny bit on the heavy side. Wouldn’t use for nap time but would use for stroller or carseat. May try this in sport weight next time.
