Making reversible by using reversible cables (k1p1 in cable), knitting as one piece, not strips, (no sewing!) and making a wider seed stitch border on the sides, no fringe.

I was aiming for 54” x 70”, but I just guessed, didn’t swatch. Meant to do the seed stitch border at the top and bottom but forgot at the bottom and it has a nice scallop due to the cables. I thought about picking up stitches and adding it, but decided it was fine with the scallop.

189 rows total, ending 4 rows after the cable row, then bind off.

I learned Russian join for this. Great technique.

Even though it’s acrylic, which I don’t normally like, this blanket is really cozy and warm and has a lovely feel.

Using yarn doubled. The yarn is much prettier used single, but I started with the yarn single on size 9 needles and realized it was going to take me forever. This was a Christmas present and I didn’t start it until a month before Christmas.

• Cast on 169 stitches using long-tail cast-on.
• Edge of 9 seed stitch all around.
• Cables are (k1p1)4 for single rib, making the cables, and therefore the blanket, reversible.
• Each row is: 9 seed stitch, (8 ribbed cable pattern, 5 seed stitch)11, 8 ribbed cable pattern, 9 seed stitch

Cast on 192 sts using long tail cast on. Allowed for a 12-yard tail and had lots left over. Better than it being too short!
