The darn first stitch …
(this might not be a big problem for loose knitters but for those who knit tightly)

The first knit stitch after a purl section always appears a bit looser than the rest, no matter how tight I try to knit it. This happens because the yarn must go a longer way after a purl stitch.
… after months of research, I found a solution … and of course I want to share my result with you:

“Russian knitting”:
knit the last stitch of the purl section distorted – means, to knit or purl a stitch you lay the yarn clockwise around the needle (normal knitting would lay the yarn counterclockwise around the needle) (see last picture showing a purl stitch)…
This creates a stitch that lays distorted on your needle and the yarn has ‘to go a shorter way’. from one stitch to the next. Therefore, the stitch will be slightly smaller and your knitting tighter at this point.
You may know this technique from “combined knitting” where the purl stitches are worked in this way. After a bit of practise this works quite well

Die verflixte erste Masche…
(für Locker-Strickerinnen mag dies kein Problem darstellen, für Brettstrickerinnen wie mich ist es aber ein Thema)
Fast immer wird die erste rechte Masche nach einem links gestrickten Bereich lockerer, egal wie fest ich sie stricke … nun habe ich mich auf die Suche nach einer Lösung gemacht … und mein Ergebnis möchte ich natürlich mit euch teilen:
„Russisch stricken“: ich stricke die erste rechte Masche so, dass sie verkehrt auf der Nadel liegt, also den Faden beim Abstricken verkehrt rum um die Nadel legen (von oben nach unten / im Uhrzeigersinn statt von unten nach oben /gegen den Uhrzeigersinn - sieht auch letztes Bild, zeigt eine linke M).

Ich habe das als „russisch“ stricken kennengelernt, offenbar wird in Russland der Faden immer andersrum um die Nadel gelegt als bei uns… und wenn man es nur an einer Masche anwendet, wird das Gestrick an der Stelle etwas enger. Durch die „falsch“ liegende Masche entsteht eine kürzere Verbindung, die das Strickbild ein wenig zusammenzieht. Ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig aber nach einer Weile geht es flott. Man kann auch immer die letzte linke Masche „russisch“ stricken, das mag die eine oder andere von euch kennen vom „combined knitting“.
