This top is worked seamlessly from the top down, using an smart and unusual construction. After knitting the left side collar, stitches are cast on provisionally for the shoulder and the left front is worked down to armhole. Then the same for the right neckline and front.
For the back, stitches from the provisional cast on and neckline are picked up and worked down to armhole.
Fronts and back are resumed, and, a few short rows will shape the fronts.
Work down to desired length, straight, with waist shaping or A-line shaping to create the perfectly fitting sweater for you. Finish with a spilt hem and a longer bottom if desired.
