This is one of the most beautiful patterns I’ve ever knitted! I used yarn already in my stash and the result looks incredibly traditional and vintage - I love it so much!

16.03.20: cast on 140 stitches with 2.75mm as I wanted a slouchy brim.

I didn’t have enough colours to do the full shading of the background so I continued with the rib colour (104 Natural White) to row 4 of the chart, from row 5-11, 15-24 I used 183 Sand, 25-27 back to 104, 28-37 183.

The decrease either side of the tree is so neat and I think is a traditional Shetland technique.

I made the crown star up as I went along, bringing back in the colours to tie the design together.

Finished 22.03.20, wet blocked over a dummy head. Just need a cold snap now to go out and flaunt it!
