I realized that my least favourite part of knitting is picking up stitches, and that a crochet cast on is basically just picking up stitches forever, so I’m not a fan. I really like the yarn and the gradient is turning out very nice.

Once I got started this pattern is a lot of fun. The lace pattern is easy to memorize and easy to tell where you are when you pick it up, so I’ve barely needed to reference the pattern. It’s a good thing too, since it’s slow going knitting the sleeves and half the torso all at once.

Three needle bind off was tedious, especially for the second arm since I couldn’t hold the two needles together easily with the bulk of the fabric.

Saw a suggestion to cast on to spare needle, instead of provisional cast on, which I would do if I was making this again.

After second sleeve three needle bind off you have to switch which is your active needle to other end of the circular, otherwise you end up with your needles on the opposite side of the neck/body hole! (see photo)

I thought it was slow going knitting the sleeves and torso at 252 stitches, but now the ruffly body is 300 sts and going up! Good thing this yarn is so pretty.

Contemplating if I should use the “summer” lace chart for the sides (for extra pattern) and/or back (for extra width).

I’m likely to be short on yarn, so will also have to decide if I’m making it shorter or finding some matching black + sparkles yarn.
