Notes

I added an extra two inches to the part that covers the chin and neck (i.e., so 8 inches total before making the face split. Also, added a 2nd strand of yarn to knit the hat portion of this so that it will be a little warmer since Mike isn’t going to be wearing anything of the top of it. Don’t want my Mike to get cold while deer hunting during our Iowa winters.

Wish I could have found a superwash wool in bright orange to use instead. This Red Heart Pumpkin was the only yarn I could find at the time that came close to being the right color. Hopefully it will work well enough. I will keep looking for a more suitable wool. Looks like Cascade may have some promising oranges but its hard to tell via internet. Wish there was somewhere around here that I could see the colors in person.

08/24/2010 - I couldn’t get my hubby to stand still long enough to try it on for pics so this is me modeling it. It is very hard to take decent pics of yourself to showcase a hat. Perhaps I can get hubby to model it for me closer to hunting season.
