Made to coordinate with a quilt. I wanted to make Shale in Brooklyn Tweed Arbor but they didn’t have enough yarn. Ultimately I didn’t think a baby blanket in high-end yarn was a good match for recipients who don’t have time to deal with things like hand wash and blocking. The recipients also live in Texas where quilts and blankets are not practically needed, so I really made the pieces in mind for nursery decor and photographs, without expectations for much use.

I chose this pattern because it’s cute and has feminine interest. I normally do solid knits for babies but I’m bored with those pattern options.

I’ve not heard good things about super washes and this is the first time I’m using one. I picked it for the color and I think the dk wt will make a pretty blanket.

Here we go!!

Knitting is straightforward. However pay attention to main pattern row 2. It is easy to miss that this is a pattern row when you have been purling on the reverse for several rows.

Blocking went well with this yarn. It is actually softer after blocking.

Post-knit: I purchased 5 skeins but only used 397 grams, so could have just used the 4 called for skeins. Unfortunately I broke into the 5th skein because i really didn’t want to play yarn chicken nor have a yarn connection in the ribbing section.
