Notes

The heavy wool hoodie from Bruce Weinstein has been unraveled; didn’t like how it was coming together. This one is going well, great pattern, decided to do it monochrome. Went down a needle size (note the wackiness of US needle sizes) for the Creative Linen, which is just amazing to work with.

Cast on Old Norwegian cast-on in pattern, as demonstrated by Patty Lyons:

I am getting better at interpreting written instructions! It is probably obvious to more experienced knitters how to knit together from two needles at the top of the side front and pocket flap; my brain kept going to “two-needle bind off” which I knew was wrong. If it is helpful, what I did was hold the two needles together in my left hand, I took the stitch off of the back needle and placed it on the front one, and then I knit those two stitches together. Likely obvious to most, but I spent a long time reading and re-reading to get my head around that!

It’s finally finished after endless seaming and weaving in of ends. I’ve decided to just buy a bootlace at Doc Martens instead of knitting a drawstring. This has been years in the making and I’m super proud of the effort. The fabric is exquisite and the fit is perfect.
