Notes

I have used Mary Anne Walters’ free pattern to knit Christmas ornaments with leftover yarn.

I made one heart according to Mary Anne’s pattern. The second heart is a larger one. Here are my modifications for the larger heart.

Follow the pattern until you have 16 stitches on the needle.
Repeat rounds 6 to 8 another 2 times until you have 20 stitches on the needles.

Heart bumps: Set up round
On the front needle knit 10 stitches
Slip last 10 from the front needle and first 10 stitches from the back needle onto scrap yarn then knit the last 10 stitches from the back needle.
Working just on the live 20 stitches.
* Knit 3 rounds
K1, K2tog, K4, K2tog, K1 repeat for back needle
Knit 1 round
K1, K2tog x 3, K1 repeat for back needle. *

Follow the pattern to bind off the first heart bump. Make sure the tail is long enough for the second heart bump. First knit 1 round and then follow the instructions from * to work the other 20 stitches.
