Body
I’ve knitted the bottom hem. I cast on 20 extra, and knit back and forth in 1x1 rib for 4 cm on 2.5mm needles.
Switched to 3.5mm needles and placed the first and last 10 stitches on holders. I cast on 5 new stitches and knit one round in white, then started pattern 1. This gives me the steek to be cut.
Pattern
The pattern is a sweater pattern from this magazine. Main picture, to the left.
Body update
I got tired of waiting for the orange yarn, and made a small border using only the blue and the greens.
Body is done, and I’m knitting ribbing for the arms. I hope the orange arrives soon.
Sleeves
Changed cast on to 63. I do not like wide sleeves, and with white, it would spell disaster. Increased to full width two rows after pattern one
Finishing
I used Kate Davies’ Web tutorial for crocheted steeks and apart from cutting one wrong thread, all went well.
I knitted the bands and facings by casting on ten stitches extra and then picking up the stitches put on hold, then I carefully sewed them to the body.
Kitchenered live stitches under the arms.
Sewed down the ribbing for the neck. I knit it double except for above the button bands.
