Combining two patterns from this book to make these. Using the little paperdoll figures from the Men’s mittens and putting them onto #18 women’s gloves.

First time using Koigu yarn - people rave about it and it’s very expensive, but I’m finding it rather stiff. Almost feels like it has silk in it, but it’s 100% Merino. Hmm. I’m sure it will soften up after blocking.

They feel very tight as I’m knitting them so I think I’m going to go up a needle to a size #1. The Koigu is just so stiff. I’m not getting gauge at #0 needle, but I am using #1.

The Koigu softened up after blocking, but I still don’t like this yarn at all - it’s just not soft enough. Also, when I blocked the glove, the black dye ran and stained the white glove. I washed, rinsed, washed, rinse several times until no more black dye came out but the white was still stained slightly.

For the second glove, I soaked it in a vinegar solution, thinking it would keep the dye from running. Instead, it turned the white yarn pink. Nice.
