Designed and sewed a case to carry my 12-Pair-at-a-time Socktacular Project!!!
Overall dimensions:
16.5”w x 13”h x 8”d
Case Highlights (outside):
- Used 1 yard each of Red, Black, and White “All’s Wool That Ends Wool” fabric. Machine quilted it myself
- Build a box for each side out of plastic canvas which was then covered by fabric
- Modified a double ended parka zipper to close in the center
- Bag has carrying handles and an adjustable shoulder strap
- Strap is long enough to wrap around body to keep bag on lap while knitting
- Bag can be used laying flat or at a 120 degree angle with snap on tethers
- Outer edges have piping and all fabric has been Scotch-Guarded to help keep it clean
- Large pocket with appliqued sheep on front of case for cell phone, etc.
- Metal feet on bottom of case to keep it off the floor
Case Highlights (inside):
- Each side holds a 20 section grid. Each section is 3” square
- Grids are constructed of non-quilted fabric over plastic canvas sections
- Grids are secured with velcro and can be removed
- There is a flap that covers each grid which snaps closed to keep the yarn in the non-working grid secured
- The flaps are two-sided: the red flap has a net bag that holds the WIP and the white flap has three clear vinyl pockets that hold tools and notions
- The other side of each flap has a large clear vinyl pocket to hold the patterns for that particular grid
- There are cutouts on either side of each flap to allow the working yarn from the closed grid to come through while working on the open grid
