About the pattern:

  • I´m a chart knitter and needed only to print out the chart, as Ambah has put all the necessary information on the page where the chart is - no paper wasting!
  • For the wrap two identical halfs are knitted, starting from the point, what makes it easy to add repeats to lengthen if desired. Than the two halfs are grafted together.
  • Love how both ends are pointy and how the points on the sides are bulid up, thanks to Ambah´s idea with decreases and increases
  • The grafting/kitchener melts wonderful with the design! I as the person who knitted it, can´t see where the two halfs are grafted together!
  • For my first half I was using lifelines after each repeat. For the second I didn´t need them. I found out, that I easily forgot a yo if someone was talking with me. Watching tv and knitting on this wrap wasn´t a problem for me. If you are new to lace (maybe first time), consider being in isolation while knitting this design and use lifelines every repeat, in case you need to frog! After 3 repeats you should have memorised the repeat :)
  • I´ve laminated my chart and color coded it so I only needed a glance and knew how to knit the row. Crossing out the knitted row with a non-permanent marker, makes the lines easily disappear with water :)

This is definitely not my last Dark Valentine by Ambah! My sister wants a copycat of Ambah´s Silky Valentine. Don´t forget the upcoming KAL for Dark Valentine in Ambah´s group <3

Dear ambahobrien as always it was a pleasure to test knit for you! I thank you so much for allowing me again to test for you :)
In tv they told that the next days it will rain, I think I´m the only person, who is looking forward to colder weather. Well others don´t have a Dark Valentine wrap … ;)

An deutsche Strickerinnen:
