3.17.2016- The official Shetland Wool Week 2016 hat, designed by Patron Ella Gordon, is being released on Friday, March 18, 2016. The pattern is free and will be available on the SWW website, here.

3.25.2016 - I’m adding colors as I go, no particularly plan in place. I’m using more colors than the five suggested in the pattern - eight, so far.

3.26.2016 - Changed the increase row 9 so that the increases were evenly spaced around the hat. Used an online knitting calculator:
Row 9: K1, (M1, K3)12 times, (M1, K2)23 times, (M1, K3)12 times, M1, K1.

4.08.2016 - Finished and the hat fits perfectly. Just need to block and take a picture. I used 10 colors from my stash.

4.10.2016 - Gave the hat a bath in Euclan and it’s limper than it was and has stretched out slightly despite the fact that I took great care not to stretch it at all. It still fits but is not a snug as it was. I may try to shrink it just a bit. The picture was taken over a bowl which is smaller than a head. Hopefully I’ll get a better picture later, on a head with a better fit. When I think of a Croft House, I immediately picture a small white building, so the middle row shows white buildings.
