Overall this was a fairly easy knit. This was my first sweater/cardigan/jacket and my second colour work project and it was very straight forward.
The final fit of this cardigan does leave something to be desired for me. The shoulder of the cardigan slides right off my shoulders and makes it quite awkward to wear. The sleeves are way too short despite sizing up for them and adding extra rows. I will have to add extra rows to the ribbing as well in order to be able to wear this cardigan regularly.
I am incredibly happy with the yarn. I was nervous to knit this in acrylic but the pound of love yarn was easy to work with and after the vinegar soak and machine washing it feels very soft. I’ll absolutely use this again in the future.
Modifications
Sleeves - An extra 2 rows added before starting the colourwork chart. 4 extra rows added right before ribbing at the end of sleeve.
Button band - added an extra 3 rows before adding button holes
Blocking
Panels - soaked in water and concentrated vinegar for about 30 minutes to soften acrylic. This worked very well and the difference in softness of the yarn is very noticeable.
Finished garment - soaked again in water and concentrated vinegar for about 30 minutes. Machine washed + dried on medium heat
