Notes

I Had an idea to weave a shawl with a ball of sock yarn (Crazy Zauberball) with my 4” pin loom. I ended ‘somewhere over 50 squares from one ball and picked up a second ball. As I wove along on the second ball, I changed my plan to do a vest. I have several woven shawls, but no garment. After I had woven 85 squares I decided to lay them out on a “favorite” vest…and found that I could stop weaving and start assembling… Stay tuned for finished vest…assembling all the squares may take as long as the weaving!

I ended up shortening the design. I ended up making 49 4” squares, 4 4”-triangles and 8 2x4”-rectangles. I did a crochet edge…I did one round of single crochet and then a final round of slip-stitch using a solid contrasting color. I found a perfect pin at the Black Sheep Gathering for the closure. I like the weight of the yarn…this is definitely a three-season vest (Wisconsin winters call for a heavier weight)
