Continuing with my tumbling blocks/triangles turned into hexagons…I made a table mat based on the quilt square design of a circle of hexagons around a center piece. I used the 3.5” Hazel Rose Looms tumbling block diamond and a half diamond (ie, equilateral triangle). Two of each size made one hexagon.
The mat required 32 individual pieces…which of course meant weaving in 64 ends… I didn’t mind that step because I was excited to see the finished project. I completed the mat with 6 green diamonds. I finished the edge with one row of reverse crochet, I used Paton’s Classic Wool and felted it in my top loading washer. The mat is approximately 15” in diameter.
