Notes

With 25g of the new Tamar to play with, I wanted to really put it through its paces. So I was pleased to find this pattern where I could try some elastic ribbing and then switch to a much larger needle size for some lace knitting.

To keep the lustre for the whole hat I used Blacker Yarns Gotland in mid and dark shades to complete it.

Very interesting to knit one item with both the Gotland and this new blend of longwool with Cornish Mule. The Tamar had all the lustre you expect with longwools but a far greater degree of elasticity and a sense of ‘bounce’. Lovely to knit with. Coped very well with the ribbing and the lace, soft to feel, lustrous and with a lovely fine halo to it, but not so that the lace stitches were obscured at all.

Blocked well.

Delighted with the finished hat and I’ll definitely be knitting with Tamar again.

The pattern was great to knit and I loved the suggested cast on for the K1P1 ribbing.
