Yarn from White Barn Sheep and Wool Heaven, is a beautiful hand-dyed Cormo/Alpaca, 2-ply fingering, purchased at Rhinebeck 2018.

Got the colour straw in DK instead of fingering. Exchanged it a few weeks later for a fingering skein which unfortunately was not the same colour (green instead of straw). Hand-dyeing is batch dependent right !?

Had to resolve myself to use an alternate yarn as it really did not work with green. Rauma Finull PT2 colour 4067 was the closest I could find in colour and texture.

Also, ran out of Dove colour so the second grey block is narrower than supposed to. Weird, I had gauge. Maybe skeins were on the short yardage side.

Result is fine despite these mishaps. Still thinking back of my stupid mistake of not getting the right yarn weight in Straw at Rhinebeck…I’ll get over it by gifting the shawl to someone who will appreciate…

I will redo that shawl one day in just one neutral colour that will nicely show the great textures, as the pattern is really fun and beautiful to knit!

Note for self: Last pick shows Rauma wool bottom right, with the pink and dove colours of White Barn Farm. Bottom left was another Rauma option which I did not end using.
