Choose size carefully
On the back of loving the Owls jumper by Kate Davies, thought I’d try this one. I chose the wrong size for the body though and despite adding waist shaping ended up taking it in by sewing machine after I’d finished, which worked OK but was a little disappointing. Choose your size carefully and do a gauge square. I’d agree with the other Ravellers that the sleeves knit up tight, didn’t need to take them in at all. I wasn’t keen on the decreasing at the yolk, took it back and tried it a different way but still not particularly happy with it, you can see it in the photo. The Owls jumper is a better pattern in my opinion. You knit and learn!

UPDATE: I took the neck back on this and redid it from the top of the blue snowflakes. I decreased 30 sts over 7 rows, then another 10 sts on row 10, which was the first short row. It’s better but still wasn’t perfect. So I ran some shirring elastic across the front to try and take out the bagginess. Much happier with the look of it now.

Maybe I just picked the wrong size in the first place but it’s disappointing that this jumper doesn’t fit better.
