19.9.13 Well, this one knitted a lot quicker than the other. Pleased with my moss stitch mitre corners, might adjust the spacing of the leaves, but otherwise very pleased. This one is a hybrid of Barbara Pott’s Rowan cushion and the Oak pattern with a bit of Jengajen thrown in too.

I didn’t knit the backs of these cushions. I wanted to line the front so I got a couple of velvet cushion covers from Ikea and sewed the knitting to the front of them with my sewing machine (zip edge by hand). Bit hairy doing it but it’s worked, and the seam hides in the edge of the knitting on the front. On the back it’s made a piping effect.

My dog wouldn’t let me take photos in peace so he’s here too!

16.9.13 OK, so doing another cushion to go with the first one.

This time I’m missing out the bramble stitch at the corners and instead doing a double moss stitch - kkpp. I’m wrapping the short rows. The side panels of the border will be per the pattern to match the other cushion. Pleased with the corners so far, one done, three to go!
