22nd June - finally finished and it’s ….OK. I’m not entirely happy with the way the funnel neck sits, the wool is maybe just too soft and it’s collapsing, so I think I’ll probably turn it down (which I have in the photos of me wearing it) to give it more structure. I might pop a bit of interfacing in to keep it upright.

The armholes are very neat (ie small)… I did 3 rows of single crochet, then turned that under and sewed it instead of using ribbon. I didn’t want to lose any stretch by adding ribbon and this way it’s all a bit more elastic.

I abandoned the herringbone rib, and instead did another 3 rows of single crcohet. May add more if it curls but OK so far.

I deconstructed the seams by crocheting them together on the outside, which suits this pattern.

My biggest change was that I sewed the long shoulder (ie the one that bunches up) with a running stitch, pulled it to the same length as the other shoulder, then fixed it with my crochet seam. It means the neck sits more centally and I’m happy with the result.

On the whole I like the look of this jumper and I like the wool. It’s not fabuloius but it’s pretty good. It took quite a while to knit for some reason, and I agree with the other raveller who said the finishing takes ages - it does!

May: This is turning out to be my project in between other projects. Have finally finished the front, blocked it and it’s the wierdest shape for a top ever, can’t wait to get the back done so I can see how it all comes together. Love the colour, love the wool, have high hopes for this pattern.
