I had planned to do this in Northbound Knitting DK, a yarn I have never knit before. I like the colors and how it feels (my gauge swatch is sooo soft!), but while winding and preparing I felt like the colors just didn’t make a nice fade. Also, I found that I like what metallurgy looks like, it’s awesome, but maybe not in a sweater.
So this is my alternative, going for my beloved Tosh DK. I had planned to start with Bloomsbury, but in my swatch, Bloomsbury and Baltic just showed too much contrast.
(They ARE great together! I plan to make a shawl or sweater using these two and maybe Deep.) I ordered two skeins of Well Water to see if they might be a better match.

Yay!!! Cast on!

I finished the body on Thursday. For the Baltic and Cousteau colorways my skeins were quite different, so I made some sort of mini fades within those solid colors section. So I had to change colors all the time which kept my interest despite all the stockinette stitch.
Then I started the collar because I wanted to work that in reverse order of colors and, thus, didn’t have to cut the yarn after binding off the body. However, I made a mistake and had to rip it back today. (Hubby was joking: How can you go wrong on a skeleton track?!) Now I’m back on track and smoothly knitting along.

Done!!! I really did it! And it fits and looks great. I love it.
I’m so glad I reversed the order of colors for the collar. It looks so much better, I think.
Next time (yes, there will be a next time!) I will make the sleeves larger. They fit, but are pretty tight, as stated in the pattern. But I was afraid of running out of yarn so I didn’t dare to do this for this cardigan.
