Beginning the Fall/Winter knitting urge with this quick stashbuster. Used Caron Tweed worsted weight on U.S. 7 needles. Worked up fairly quick in between bouts of online school and quick snatches of down time. Plan on making the neck warmer as well in the same yarn.
I have to say I absolutely love this yarn from Caron. My current budget only allows for acrylic/acrylic blend yarns I can snatch up right away, and since I have a mild wool allergy this yarn is perfect for me to use. It has fantastic stitch definition in this hat as well as being soft with a nice weight.
I made the pattern as written and I am not overly happy with the slight slouch it has but I’m not upset about it either. I will add a furry pom to the top at some later point and add this to the gift pile for someone else to enjoy. I’ve found that teachers really appreciate a hat and scarf set for teacher gifts so I make some up to have on hand for when I need them.
I also plan on making this again in the same yarn but making this a beanie instead. It’s an easy pattern to make changes like that too!
