Fantastic pattern. Looks far more difficult than it really is. For the experienced knitter I consider this super simple and quick. For a beginner I think this would be a good pattern to start sweater knitting. Keep in mind the buttonholes and increases, both of which are minimal. I am using a worsted and a light DK or sport weight yarn held together. I have already used one skein of the worsted and am still using my first skein of dk/sport and I’ve just divided for the body. I’m hoping I have enough of the dk for the arms but I’m not worried if I don’t. I’ll use the worsted only (doubled maybe, it’s pretty lightweight as well). These two yarns together are super soft. The reason for the acrylic is due to the recipient’s wool allergy. Still looks pretty damn good for acrylic. Can’t wait to see it finished, and already have plans for one for myself but in green.
The only change I’ve made so far is simply to continue to the Fisherman’s rib down the length of the garter stitch bands. The recipient also would like a longer sweater so I’m going to try and aim for the length she wants (29 inches, measured off of her favorite sweater).
