Well, it was Christmas Eve and we’d been invited to a friend’s house; I wore it outside our house. I was giving a batch of hats, shawls, laprobes; this hat was not in that pile.
Vivo recently took up knitting. I was showing her around Ravelry. She saw this page and asked about the hat. I fetched it from the closet and modeled it for her. She exclaimed that it was “Cool!”. She likes the worms!!! So, it’s hers; it’ll be loved, whereas I saw it as a total failure. I warned her about the chenille yarn, but she’d like to have the rest of my stash of this yarn. So the remaining 21 balls go to her parent’s home with us on New Year’s Eve. I say good riddance; I just hope she doesn’t hate me afterward.

Found my scan of the pattern!! This project is finally linked to its pattern.

Interestingly, of the 9 projects listed, only mine used the suggested yarn, and the one done in chenille … was done in a cotton chenille, not the acrylic named in the pattern. Every one of the others looks lovely; I guess I’ll have to make it again with ‘normal’ yarn!
