Kit #2, delivered May 12, 2025.
Kit came with a 3mm hook. Though I do work tightly, that was impossibly small for this yarn. I used a 3.5mm hook on the first kit, but am using a 4.5mm this time.
This time, I am following the pattern as given, though it took me an unconscionable amount of time to write out the first few rounds! Once established, the pattern is easy enough, but - to save myself from ripping back often - I am placing stitch markers in every stitch that will have an increase on the next round. It’s a bother at the start, because there are so few stitches, but it will be a godsend later on. I bet I make fewer errors this time.

As I work on this, I wonder constantly just HOW anyone could ever work this yarn with the 3mm hook included in the kit. I used a 3.5mm hook on the first kit, though I did use a different pattern. This time, it’s a 4.5mm hook.
I finally did a wpi of the yarn. Over two inches of wraps, I got 20 wraps. That’s 10 wpi, and that’s right between sport and DK yarn. Next kit, I’ll use a bigger hook yet.

Almost 23 rounds done! And I only just discovered that the number of dcs between sc spaces is the same as the number of the round!
Just began fourth ball of white. Five total.

Centre finished! Now to do the greenery … once I decide which pattern to use!

For the greenery, I’m using this video: https://share.temu.com/do7L7berCjA

At some point, I made mistakes in counting. Some sections have 29 stitches, while some have 30. No way will I seek them out, let alone rip back to find them.
Onward with the (ch5, sk2, sc in 3rd) round!

Nowhere is it indicated that there must be an even number of ch5 loops around in the first round of the border. I have an odd number.
First, I’ll sleep. Later, I’ll figure out how to fudge it.

0400 hrs.Nope, not enough of this ball of green to finish the found of fans snd leaves.
Sleep now, pick another shade afterward.

Proving once again that I cannot count!! I needed 5 dc between the two ch3, but this one only has 4. I bet natural flowers sometimes lack a petal here and there!
So, two full-sized and one missing a sixth, and it has dawned on me that perhaps the descriptor ‘amigurumi’ on some of these Bouquet Blankets really should apply to these flowers, or at least to the second round of them. When back home, I’ll try using a smaller hook for the next flower.

Back to it - 4th flower - this time with the 3.5mm hook that’s the same style as the 3mm that was included in the kit.

Maybe, now that I’ve made four, I can stop going back to watch the video at the start?

Well, the item I had been using for the greenery and flowers has sold out, and its videos are gone! This seems to be the same:

Now have eleven flowers done.
They cannot be done in the car, only while seated at home or away at a table.
I had wanted this to be error-free. However, it now has three flowers made backwards.

So, from one ball of red, I have 20 flowers. It’s a good thing I didn’t use the red from kit #1, because I will be needing it for this project. Unlike the various shades of white in different kits, the red for kits 1 and 2 are identical.
As I continue making these Bouquet Blankets, I am beginning to believe that making the flowers separately, to be attached afterwards, isn’t such a daft idea after all. Done individually, I would have the option of evenly distributing various shades of one colour OR different colours. That’s not an easy option when making them already attached one right after the other. On the other hand, there’s no law saying they must be made consecutively around the perimeter. I could place stitch markers around - matching colours across from each other - and make the flowers in pairs across from each other. That would allow for spreading out different dye lots or colours rather evenly. I think that last will be my choice for the remaining kits.
