My width is longer than the 37.5” of the pattern. Good to have it fit me, but I might need more yarn. Both Hibas told me they know where it may be available. We’ll see.

1300 hrs.
I don’t need to tick off each row as I go; it’s obvious what’s next now.

Second ball rewound; its yarn barf was less than the first’s. Again, knot-free!
Not quite ready to begin knitting from it yet.

1800 hrs.
Ball 1 did 40 rows and cast-on, with a yard leftover.
About 6” not stretched flat.

2000 hrs.
Come to join in the next ball, and I discover that this yarn is composed of only three actual plies. Oh, well! I’ll make do.

2200 hrs.
First decrease row in the sixth Row 5. (From front side)
Marker placed in first stitch.
Decreases as:
K8, (k2tog, k15) 9 times, k2tog, k7.
Selvedge stitches not included.

2100 hrs.
If ever I make this again, I would work more rows of garter stitch, before beginning the welts. I am not happy with how much the cast on edge is rolling! If I can find more yarn, I’ll probably add a heavy border to that bottom edge.

Second decrease row done in ninth Row 5.

2130 hrs.
Third decrease worked in twelfth Row 5.

Not much left of ball #2.
Ball 3 already rewound; no knots, though I think I noticed a factory join - blown ends intermeshed.

FINISHED!
As expected, really too small for me. It will fit someone.

If done again, some sort edging needs to be added to the long edges to avoid its tendency to roll. Maybe a one to two inch wide before and after? Were it actual wool, it could probably be blocked to stop the rolling.

To fit me, it needs to begin with a bunch more stitches, as well as being longer (more repeats).

Maybe not now.
