26 Apr: Cast on during knitting group meet-up. Had to frog twice because I had forgotten how to do a garter tab! And then I had to frog once because I couldn’t get my head around the increases in the solid section. Thanks to AriadneWebb’s project notes for the halfway point cheat sheet.

I didn’t use stitchmarkers for the stripe section because once you have a couple of repeats, the slipped stitches themselves act as stitchmarkers. Just be mindful of the first and last slipped stitch because that’s where I have made mistakes. I didn’t think they were too bad so I didn’t frog back to the start.

Doing this in a lighter yarn (lace although it feels like light fingering) so I’m sure my large size will not be as large as if I had used sock yarn. Still, it’s Wollmeise and if the first two lace shawls I made from these leftover skeins are anything to go by, I know this shawl will have a beautiful drape.

I still have plenty of yarn left so I’m thinking of casting on another one right away but in reverse colours.

12 May: Done! I didn’t do 7 purl ridges because I think it was big enough. Also so. many. stitches. It’s soaking at the moment and hope to have it blocked and ready for a photoshoot on Saturday.
